hey im all for stupid, i love stupid, stupid can be fun and we're all unavoidably stupid, but our modern mass-produced stupid sucks bc 1) it only comes in the same stale 3-5 flavors of stupid (or really just one if you file under LOOK AT ME!), and 2) all our acolytes and entrepreneurs of stupid are just so damn SERIOUS about their special kind of stupid.
Yes. I used to be on the receiving end of readers' letters to the editor. Not so long ago, one had to sit down, put pen to paper, fold the paper and insert it into an envelope, address the letter, affix a stamp, and drop it into the mailbox. With the advent of email, the process became a little easier. I would read these letters. The best among them would always conclude with an exhortation to WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!! They made me smile. Then I'd toss them.
Social media eliminated all barriers to entry. Now all of those erstwhile letter writers are shouting on Twitter.

The bread & circuses are doing their job magnificently. Maintaining the cognitive dissonance keeping a critical mass from acknowledging the reality of changes, tragedy & tyranny occurring around them. Rats buzzing for dopamine hits & a comforting sense of fake security. Enchantment 👉 enslavement.
